In these box plots, the horizontal line within the box denotes the median value of the sample, the bottom and top of the box denote the first and third quartiles respectively, the upper whisker extends to the highest value that is within (1.5 x interquartile range) of the third quartile, and the lower whisker extends to the lowest value within (1.5 x interquartile range) of the first quartile. Data beyond the top whisker are outliers and plotted as points.
