Pulse-overexpression of RusT reveals target genes of the sRNA. (A) C. crescentus ΔvanAB carrying either an empty control vector (pBV-MCS6; ctrl.) or the expression plasmid pP_van-RusT were grown in M2G to an OD₆₆₀ of 0.8. Total RNA was prepared from cells collected prior to and at indicated time points after addition of vanillate. Expression of RusT and 5S rRNA (loading control) was determined by Northern blot analysis. (B) Volcano-plot analysis of gene expression changes in response to pulse-induction (15 min) of RusT. Genes with fold changes ≥2 and an FDR-adj. P value of ≤0.05 were considered as significantly different and are highlighted in red.
