Method used for calculating sample size in our study. Considering the findings from the study done by Robert M Kennedy et al10, the mean Pain score as per the Facial Affective Scale (FAS) among Fentanyl group and Ketamine group was 5.55+3.33 and 4.21+330, respectively. Based on the data, at 95% Confidence Interval an estimated sample size of 97 in each group was derived based on the above-mentioned formula to adequately power the study to 80%. A total of 100 study samples were included in each group for the purpose of the study.
