a Monocytes isolated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells of healthy donors were tested in a transwell assay for their capacity to migrate towards conditioned medium from PC3 or LNCaP cell lines. b Proliferation of macrophages exposed to conditioned media derived from the PC3 and LNCaP prostate-cancer cell lines. Macrophages were propagated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells and exposed to conditioned medium from PC3 or LNCaP cells for 48 h. Their proliferation was evaluated by measuring 3H-thymidine incorporation in the DNA during the last 18 h of incubation.
