Specific genetic variants and the risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD). Currently, most non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy patients with a genetic variant are eligible for implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantation if their left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is ≤ 35%. However, some genetic variants have specific recommendations regarding ICD implantation.
