Different parameters calculated from CO₂ and light response curves

Calculation of parameters after the C₃ photosynthesis model (Farquhar et al., 1980; Medlyn et al., 2002). See Figure 2, A to C, and Figure 3. Mean values ± se of systemically oviposition-induced twigs of Scots pine and untreated controls are given. P levels evaluated by the Wilcoxon matched pairs test are presented. A_max, Light-saturated (PPFD 1,100 μmol m⁻² s⁻¹) rate of net photosynthesis, measured at CO₂-saturated (2,000 μmol mol⁻¹) concentration; A₃₅₀, light-saturated rate of net photosynthesis, measured at CO₂ concentration of 350 μmol mol⁻¹; J_max, potential electron transport rate at A_max conditions; V_max, maximum rate of Rubisco activity at A_max conditions.
