Chromosomal location of seven tandem repeats on the metaphase chromosomes of XY and XYY cytotypes of R. hastatulus. The schematic depiction of the structure of the old Y, neo-Y1, and neo-Y2 chromosomes displays positions of all seven tandem repeats between Y chromosomes in both cytotypes. The position of Cl12 and Cl134 5S changes rapidly in the XYY cytotype, directly confirming translocation and fusion events between autosome 3 (in the XY cytotype) and the X-Y chromosomes. The orange (upper) circles represent the parts that originated from the autosome 3, and the green (lower) circles represent the old Y-chromosomal regions.
