Elite female and male athletes who are international or national top-level athletes (succeeded in national competitions) or athletes in highly competitive leagues (e.g., NCAA Division 1) |
Athletes competing at regional, state, or provincial levels, masters level competitors (> 35 years), the sample size includes both elite and non-elite (e.g., novice or recreational) athletes, athletes from countries with low sports competitiveness, disabled athletes |
Intervention |
Training programs lasting a minimum of 4 weeks or comprising at least 10 sessions; resistance training interventions including free weights, machine weights, isokinetic devices, elastic bands, resisted running, and plyometrics |
