Qualitative review of the ubiquitin dataset comparing 3D volumes of the ground truth (left) vs. ours (right) to emphasize that streaky artifacts are absent when a single network is used to fit the tomogram, as discussed in Section 2.4. IsoNet also exhibits reconstruction artifacts due to computational constraints, as displayed in Figure 3. This motivates potential improvement for both methods and the development of hybrid approaches to more efficiently and accurately represent large cryoET volumes.
