Overexpression of Src impaired osteogenic differentiation of progenitor cells. The overexpression of Src was verified using qRT-PCR in ST2 cells after transfection of Src expression construct (A). The ST2 cells after transfection were induced to allow osteogenic differentiation. The effect of Src overexpression on osteoblast differentiation was examined. ALP staining was performed in differentiated osteoblasts 14 days after osteogenic treatment (B). The mRNA (C) and protein (D) levels of osteogenic factors were measured 72 h after osteogenic treatment. Src mRNA level was examined using qRT-PCR in the BMSCs of 16 week-old mice 8 weeks after ovariectomy (E). Values represent mean ± SD, n = 3.
