The SWI-SNF complex is important for the GR τ1 transactivation activity. (A) Transactivation activities of the GR, GRΔτ1, and τ1c proteins were obtained from a WT and a snf6 mutant strain by measuring β-galactosidase activity (nanomoles of O-nitrophenyl-β-d-galactopyranoside per milligram of protein per minute). Strains expressing GR and GRΔτ1 were grown in the presence of 10 μM triamcinolone acetonide.
