Effects of chemical modifications of Hep G2 cells on cell fusion. CHO cell lines constitutively expressing both the chimeric E1 and E2 proteins (open bars) or transiently expressing the VSV G protein (solid bars) were cocultured with Hep G2 cells treated with various concentrations of pronase, sodium periodate, or phospholipase C.
