Immunogenic peptides were aligned with recent vaccine strains of the influenza virus. Full length M1, NS2, PB1 and NP sequences from vaccine‐only strains were obtained from the NCBI Influenza Research Database https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genomes/FLU/Database/nph‐select.cgi?go=database 22 on the 2nd of February 2024. Sequences were aligned using Clustal Omega Multiple Sequence Alignment (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/Tools/msa/clustalo/), 47 and conservation was determined. Conservation is listed as a proportion of total sequences aligned that had an identical amino acid sequence as the peptide under investigation. Tm represents the midpoint thermal melt temperature calculated at two concentrations, in duplicate with two independent samples, with the error as standard error from the mean value (SEM).
