Fig. 2 — Annual fractions of positive BCI lab tests from major drug classes that contain the specified drug class. The fraction of tests is calculated as the number of drug-specific tests divided by the sum of all positive tests that contain at least one of the major drug classes. Samples can test positive for multiple substances. Synthetic opioids include fentanyl and analogs as well as other illicit synthetic opioids such as U-47700 and etonitazene. Data Source: BCI Crime Lab Data, 2021 data are through September 2021.
