p139TM | Δ86–105 | − |
p140lys | Lys176 and Lys259 | − |
p140III | Glu209 | − |

pp29la1 | 1–283 | +(Thr) |
The construction and properties of the ICP10 and mutant eukaryotic expression vectors and the establishment of constitutively expressing cell lines were described earlier (49, 50, 60). p139TM is deleted in the transmembrane domain (50). p140lys is mutated in Lys176 and Lys259, p140III is mutated in Glu209, and p140pro is mutated in SH3 binding sites at positions 150 and 395 (60). p136I/II is deleted in amino acids 106 to 178 (50). pp29la1 is expressed by the bacterial vector pJL11 (49).
