The metastasis of colorectal cancer (CRC) is facilitated by tumor-derived small extracellular vesicles (sEVs). These sEVs travel through the bloodstream and coordinate the spread of cancer to secondary sites through various mechanisms, including epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), creating a premetastatic environment, promoting immunosuppression, and stimulating angiogenesis and the proliferation of CRC cells.
