Major criteria Minor Criteria
Septic shock treated with vasopressors
Respiratory failure necessitating mechanical ventilation
Respiratory rate ≥ 30 bpm
Confusion or disorientation
Hypothermia (temperature < 36ºC)
Hypotension necessitating aggressive fluid resuscitation
Leukopenia (<4000 cells/mm3).
Thrombocytopenia (<100000 platelets/mm3).
Uremia: BUN ≥ 20 mg/dL.
Ratio PaO2to FiO2 ≤ 250
Multilobar (≥2) infiltrates
