Results at 1:100 serum dilution are shown as optical density (OD), calculated as the OD in wells coated with antigen minus the OD in wells coated with bovine serum albumin. Positive-control serum (MAP #1) was from a volunteer immunized with a (T1B)4 multiple antigen peptide (MAP) vaccine (22). OD values of <0.1 were obtained with sera from saline-injected controls (data not shown).
