Model for the role of HHV-7 U12 and U51 in infected cells. Our results suggest that the U12 gene product induces the migration of infected cells toward the lymph nodes for viral transmission and that the U12 and U51 gene products modulate a wide variety of intracellular signal transduction pathways in the infected cells.
