Inhibition of low-Mg-induced NF-κB activation by apocynin and NAC in HUVECs cultured in low-Mg conditions. The cells were pre-incubated with apocynin or NAC for 60 min. Then, the medium was discarded, and fresh medium containing either 0.1 or 1.0 mM Mg added with apocynin (10 µM) or NAC (1 mM) was added for an additional 90 min. p50 and p65 activities were quantified by TransAM NF-κB analysis on nuclear extracts.
