Estimates in UK Biobank (open boxes) originate from data published by Rao et al.²⁴ and are scaled to a corresponding 1 SD lowering of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Odds ratios in China Kadoorie Biobank (filled boxes) are estimated using logistic regression of the weighted PCSK9 genetic score, scaled to a 1 SD lowering of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, calculated as an inverse-variance-weighted average of region-specific estimates with adjustment for age, age-squared, sex, ascertainment, and region-specific principal components.
