Levels of granulocyte-associated proteins in lung homogenates in mice vaccinated with Δcaf1 and ΔyopD/Δcaf1 regimens and challenged with aerosolized Y. pestis C12. Three dpi, mice were euthanized, and lung homogenates measured for bacteria (CFU/g), myeloperoxidase (MPO ng/mL), and eosinophil peroxidase (EPO ng/mL). Among mice with low bacterial burden (< 10³ CFU/g), females (F) and males (M) were compared for bacteria (A), MPO (B), and EPO (C).
