Recommended vaccination schedule for people with diabetes

Pneumococcal All

All children should receive the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine as part of childhood immunisation programme

All children and adults with diabetes should receive one dose of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine and one dose of 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine, at least 1 year apart

The type of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine and the schedule should be based on local guidelines

Tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis All One dose followed by booster every 10 years
Zoster ≥50 years Two doses, 2–6 months apart
