The overall signal-to-noise (SNR) efficiency maps of different VS labeling strategies from simulation, showing their sensitivity to the B1 and B0 variation averaged over the arterial velocity distribution in the brain. Note that the sBIR8-VSS pulse had an excellent immunity to B1 and B0 variation, and the sinc-VSI pulse had the best performance among the VSI pulses. The sinc-VSI pulse also had higher SNR efficiency when the B0 and B1 variation was not too big.
