(a) An in vitro invasion assay was carried out using 24‐well Transwell units with polycarbonate filters coated on their upper sides with Matrigel. Cells were placed in the upper part of each Transwell unit and allowed 48 h to invade. Cells that penetrated to the lower surface of each membrane were fixed, stained, and counted under a microscope.
