In vitro suicide gene therapy of A549 cells infected with either the SET or HRE–SET retrovirus. Cells infected with the recombinant retroviruses were incubated with 10 µM ganciclovir for 6 days, and exposed to 2 Gy radiation (R) and/or hypoxia (1%) (H) for 8 h previously every 2 days, followed by cell survival analysis.
