 (a) Characterization of normal non‐parenchymal cells (NPC2) and those infected with human telomerase reverse transcriptase (NPC2‐hTERT). Protein expression of α‐smooth muscle actin (α‐SMA) in NPC2 and NPC2‐hTERT were examined by Western blot analysis. Cyclin dependent kinase 4 (CDK4) was used as an internal control. LI90, hepatic stellate cell line derived from mesenchymal liver tumor. (b) mRNA expression of collagen type I and hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) in NPC2 and NPC2‐hTERT was examined by RT‐PCR. GAPDH was used as an internal control.
