α‐Galactosylceramide (α‐GalCer)‐induced interferon (IFN)‐γ was not detected in natural killer (NK) T cells in interleukin (IL)‐4−/– mice even at single‐cell level. The IFN‐γ‐ and IL‐4‐producing abilities of hepatic NK1.1+ CD3+ NKT cells from wild‐type (wt) or IL‐4−/– mice were examined by flow cytometry (a,d) 1, (b,e) 2 and (c,f) 4 h after intravenous administration of 2 µg α‐GalCer.
