The amount of E^rns in the cell lysates per 10⁵ cells was extrapolated from a standard curve prepared from an immunoaffinity-purified preparation of E^rns produced in insect cells (5).

The RNase activity was determined as absorbance at 260 nm (A₂₆₀) units per milligram of E^rns per use as described previously (7).

Detection of dimers of E^rns by nonreducing sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.

SK6 cells were infected with virus Flc2 with a multiplicity of infection of 0.05 and analyzed 4 days after infection.
