The amount of Erns in the cell lysates per 105 cells was extrapolated from a standard curve prepared from an immunoaffinity-purified preparation of Erns produced in insect cells (5).
The RNase activity was determined as absorbance at 260 nm (A260) units per milligram of Erns per use as described previously (7).
Detection of dimers of Erns by nonreducing sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
SK6 cells were infected with virus Flc2 with a multiplicity of infection of 0.05 and analyzed 4 days after infection.
