Fusogenic envelope glycoprotein was transiently expressed in cell-cell fusion assays. After 36 h of coculture with the indicated target cells, the fusion indices were determined: −, less than 1% fusion (background levels); +, 1 to 10% fusion; and ++, >10% fusion.
