TAA of carotenoids. (A) Data are expressed as equivalent of micromoles of Trolox and reported as the mean ± SD of three independent experiments (°°° p < 0.001 vs. fucoxanthin, Student’s t-test); (B,C) SH-SY5Y cells were treated for 2 h with the studied carotenoids at a concentration of 5 µM. At the end of treatment, the ABTS radical scavenging activity was evaluated in the membrane and cytoplasmic fractions using the ABTS assay.
