The fossil fuel emission, ocean sink, and net atmosphere increase were from the GCB 2019 report (7). Numbers in parentheses show ranges of values from 2001 to 2019 for each flux. The budget imbalance includes all unaccounted fluxes from other carbon pools such as soil and dead organic matter and litter, any difference in legacy effects, and the lateral transport. For live biomass removal, the estimates after adjustments for intact forests are given in parenthesis and in bold for live biomass removal and the budget imbalance.
