Effects of 100 mg/kg body weight of curcumin (○), demethoxycurcumin (△), and bisdemethoxycurcumin (▲) on rat paw edema caused by carrageenan (●). All three active compounds of turmeric significantly inhibit carrageenan-induced paw edema. Bisdemethoxycurcumin was more potent than the other two compounds.
