Studies of interference using hASCT2 and hASCT1 receptors. The assays were done using control HeLa cells or HeLa.RD114 productively infected with RD114 replication-competent virus. These cells were transiently transfected with expression vectors for the hASCT2 and hASCT1 receptors. Infections with the LacZ pseudotype viruses were initiated 24 h after the transfections were begun. The titers are averages of three independent experiments + standard errors.
