For 300 MEG simulations at SE = 3 and SNR = 2, the plot of AUC (a1), SD (a2), and D _min (a3) as a function of eccentricity for cMEM, cMEM_ω and MNE_ω. The comparison of the three methods is summarized for AUC (b1), SD (b2), and D _min (b3) for 99 (out of 300) sources with an eccentricity of <60 mm. On each boxplot, the central mark indicates the median, and the bottom and top edges of the box indicate the 25th and 75th percentiles, respectively. If the groups are statistically different after post‐hoc analysis, the significance levels are shown as: ***p < .001, **p < .01, and *p < .05.
