Growth of d13-lacZ in Vero and HEL cells. Confluent monolayers of Vero (A) or HEL (B) cells in 25-ml flasks were infected in duplicate with WT HSV-1 strain (KOS1.1), d13-lacZ, or R13-lacZ at an MOI of 10 and incubated at 37°C for 24 h. Virus yield in the infected-cell lysates was determined by plaque assay on Vero cells.
