Table 1.
Neurological severity score (NSS) tasks as described by Flierl et al. (22).
| Description | Score |
|---|---|
| Exit circle | /1 |
| Monoparesis/Hemiparesis | /1 |
| Straight walk | /1 |
| Startle reflex | /1 |
| Seeking behaviour | /1 |
| Beam balance | /1 |
| Round stick balance | /1 |
| Beam walk: 3 cm | /1 |
| Beam walk: 2 cm | /1 |
| Beam walk: 1 cm | /1 |
Each test is assigned a score of either zero (pass) or 1 (fail). A maximal NSS score of 10 signifies an incapacity to complete all tasks, indicating severe neurological dysfunction. In contrast, a score of zero represents uncompromised neurological function.
