Below is a longer (250 words) abstract that follows our recommendations for crafting titles, abstracts and keywords. The text highlighted and numbers refer to specific parts of the guide (see main text). While the abstract is strictly structured following IMRAD in this example, the same abstract could be used without section headers for each section for journals not allowing structured abstracts.
