Methods Randomised clinical trial.
Participants Country: Taiwan.

 Mean age: 50 years.
Females: 51 (64.6%).
Inclusion criteria:
 1. Participants who were classified as ASAI and II.
 2. Undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy for symptomatic gallstones.
Interventions The participants were randomised to the following groups:
 Group 1: abdominal wall lift (n = 40).
 Group 2: pneumoperitoneum with 8 mm Hg (n = 39).
Device used for abdominal lift: subcutaneous device.
Outcomes The outcomes reported were complications and operating time.
