Effects involving TFUS target (amygdala, entorhinal cortex) and pre/post (pre-TFUS, post-TFUS) on the average interbeat interval between International Affective Picture System trials. TFUS targeting the amygdala decreased interbeat intervals (i.e., increased heart rate) during intertrial intervals of the mildly aversive International Affective Picture System task. Increased intertrial intervals indicate a lower heart rate. The horizontal dashed line in the box plot indicates the mean. The horizontal solid line in the box plot indicates the median.
