Molecular mechanisms associated with radioresistance. Several molecular mechanisms and multiple molecular targets have been linked to the progress of radioresistance. These mechanisms include an elevated presence of CSC, increased autophagy, apoptosis dysregulation, EMT, cell cycle dysregulation, and an upsurge of ROS. In each of these instances, miRNAs capable of modulating the mechanisms responsible for the response to radiotherapy have been identified.
