Linear regression models were used to estimate the decrease in food security score after adjusting for child sex, age, household socioeconomic affluence, highest parental educational attainment, and duration of meal reception. All linear regression models included the change in food security score as the dependent variable. p-values were obtained using one-sample t-test and analysis of variance for continuous variables (food security score difference). All but one child from each family was randomly selected to be included in this sample. All children included are distinct. Households with high and marginal food security can be classified as food secure households, while those considered as low or very low, as food insecure.
