Photograph of immunoblots of electrophoretically separated proteins from Vero cells and RSC infected with HSV-1(F), R7041 (U_S3⁻), R7356 (U_L13⁻), R7353 (U_S3⁻/U_L13⁻), and recombinant viruses R7827 and R7837. Replicate cultures of Vero cells (lanes 1 to 6) or RSC (lanes 7 to 12) were infected with viruses at an MOI of 5 and harvested at 18 h after infection. Proteins were solubilized in disruption buffer and electrophoretically separated in 11% denaturing polyacrylamide gels, transferred to nitrocellulose sheets, and reacted with a monoclonal antibody to U_S11 or polyclonal antibodies to ICP22 and U_L38 as described in Materials and Methods.
