Urea denatured OmpA or EspPΔ5’ was incubated with the indicated chaperone (2 μM) and proteoliposomes containing either 2 μM TAM, TamA, or BAM for 60 min at 30 °C. Samples were then unheated (for OmpA experiments) or heated to 95 °C for 10 min (for EspPΔ5’ experiments) and resolved by SDS-PAGE. Western blotting was performed using an antiserum against an OmpA or EspP C-terminal peptide. A representative experiment is shown. Three independent experiments were performed and a statistical analysis is shown in Supplementary Fig. 8.
