For each genetic loci on the autosomal chromosomes, the fraction of HCC samples that contained significant upwards expression biases were plotted as a positive fraction and the fraction of samples that contained significant downwards expression bias were plotted as a negative fraction. DNA copy number data determined by aCGH was plotted in a similar manner. B. Data was plotted as in A., with the exception that genes involved in cell proliferation and nucleic acid metabolism were removed, as described in the text, before REBs were identified.
