Plasmas were depleted from large-sized TG-rich remnants by brief ultracentrifugation as described in the Experimental section. Plasmas were subsequently passed through a Superose 6-HR column on an FPLC system, and the cholesterol levels in individual fractions were determined as described in the Experimental section. Fractions 5–15, 16–29 and 30–43 contain VLDL, IDL (intermediate-density lipoprotein)/LDL and HDL respectively. Each point is the mean±S.D. for seven (control and CETPTg mice) or five (apoCITg and CETPTg/apoCITg mice) distinct mice. *P<0.05, significantly different from control mice; ANOVA.
