Mean HbA₂ percentage for reference group is 2.2–3.5, mean HbA₂% of SUPT5H carriers is 5.2% (3.6–6.4), and mean HbA₂% of β carriers is 4.9 ± 0.5%. Mean of HbA₂% for double heterozygote β-thalassemia and SUPT5H carriers is 10.67% (SD = 1.99).
