Study timeline and design. Participants completed two study visits (control, bosentan) during which they were assessed under quiet rest (normoxia, FiO2 0.21), chemoreflex inhibition via transient hyperoxia (FiO2 1.00), and chemoreflex excitation via acute, graded hypoxia (FiO2 0.05–0.21) (a).
