3D sectioning matrix model generation using 3DBuilder and IdeaMaker
(A) Extrusion of the medial face of the supratentorial 3D brain model in 3DBuilder. Extrusion results in the medial face flush with the Z plane and positioned below the extrusion surface (green).
(B) Top-down view of a 3D matrix Brain Box template (white) modified with an extruded 3D brain scan (red) and with vertical modifiers that print out as the knife guides (blue).
(C) 5 mm subtraction in the X plane of the frontal pole of the extruded 3D brain model modifier in the Brain Box template. Prior to subtraction, the edge of the frontal pole meets the vertical knife guide modifier. After subtraction, 5 mm of the frontal pole is positioned anterior to the knife guide.
(D) Side and top down print previews for the completed 3D sectioning matrix.
