Workflow for refolding purified VDAC1
Refolding starts with diluting the purified inclusion bodies 10-fold in buffer containing the detergent LDAO. After dialysis of the diluted protein, and centrifugation to remove insoluble material and aggregates, the refolded VDAC1 is subjected to size exclusion chromatography to separate properly-folded VDAC1 monomers from multimers and any remaining aggregates.
